Welcome to The Art of Karl

The Art of Karl a simple name for a website yes my name is Karl and this is my art. It's not everything I have done alot of my old art no longer exists.

I have always painted drawn. Wrote and performed poetry.The later not so much so now I let the critics win just like my visual art my written words confused people. 

 I am an artist being true to myself and those around me. I've never done it for kudos nor financial gain but the compulsion to paint runs through my veins my heart my soul. It keeps me grounded. 

I live with comorbid illnesses and learning difficulties. Every job I tried to hold and keep I lost through my mental health I've faced discrimination because of this. It's seen me being hospitalised then the loss of my house. I'm honest and humble. My kindness has seen that being abused taken advantage of. . I've also being mentally /Financially abused  and bullied. 

Life's really tough barely scraping by getting older sees my circle of friends shrinking. 

Taste is individual and you may feel indifferent to what you see. We are all opinionated these options do matter but to who or whom will it hold relivance but I'm irrelevant. I struggle with confidence. 

Each created piece is inspired by the both the world around us and the world I live within and sometimes that of the mental state I am also within. .My dedication to painting stems from pure passion the need to paint draw create .

I am not a person who constantly updates social media platforms. 

You may of viewed my work on walls. Heard audio works or seen live performances of mine. 

I have had poetry published in international anthologies. I have held solo exhibitions. Being part of group exhibitions too.
